New Patient Exam
During your first, we gather necessary information
to develop your personalized dental care plan. We begin by
discussing your needs and expectations. We review your medical and
dental history. We'll also complete an oral exam, including an
evaluation of your teeth, an analysis of your bite and
TMJ,
an assessment of your gums and bones, and an oral cancer screening.
X-rays and intra-oral pictures will be taken at this time for
diagnostic purposes. Once we've developed a plan for creating your
new smile, we take the time necessary to explain your treatment
options and to answer all your questions. Appointments for cleanings
and other needed work can then be scheduled.
Regular Cleanings
We believe that regular preventive care is the best way to maintain
your dental health and keep an attractive smile. Regular check-ups
and cleanings catch small problems before they become big ones, help
extend the life of your fillings and help keep you informed of the
state of your oral health. During a regular cleaning, our hygenist
will remove plaque and calculus (tartar) -- soft and hard deposits
-- from above and below the gumline, apply cavity-preventive
fluorides, and provide counsel for dental health prevention and
instructions for personal dental hygiene. |

Sealants
Dental sealants act as a barrier, protecting the teeth against
decay-causing bacteria. We apply sealants to the chewing surfaces of
the back teeth (premolars and molars) where decay occurs most often.

Gum Care
We will evaluate your oral health and recommend appropriate
treatment for any gum disease detected.

Jaw Pain Relief
More than fifteen percent of American adults suffer from chronic
facial pain. Some common symptoms include pain in or around the ear,
tenderness of the jaw, clicking or popping noises when opening the
mouth, or even headaches and neck aches. We will help identify the
source of the pain with a thorough exam and appropriate X-rays.
Often, it's a sinus, toothache or an early stage of periodontal
disease. But for some pain, the cause is not so easily diagnosed.
The pain could be related to the facial muscles, the jaw or
TMJ, located in the front of the ear. Treatment
for this pain may include stress reducing exercises, muscle
relaxants, or wearing a mouth protector to prevent teeth grinding.
They've been successful for many, and we can recommend which is best
for you. |
Custom Sports Mouthguards
We recommend using a mouthguard during any activity that could
result in a injury to the face or mouth. Our custom-fitted mouthguards
can help prevent broken teeth and injuries to the lips, tongue, face
or jaw. They stay in place while you are wearing them, making them
easy for you to talk and breath. They fit comfortably and offer the
best protection for your smile.
Dental Emergencies
Whether you have tooth pain from an infection or
a broken tooth,
we will make time to see you that day.
Smile Restoration
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Gone are the days of metal fillings. We now eliminate your tooth
decay then restore the tooth to its natural appearance with
tooth-colored composite fillings.
Covering Teeth with "Crowns"
If you want a smile that's your
crowning glory, you may need a crown, onlay or veneer to cover a
tooth and restore it to its natural shape and size. Our crowns make
your teeth stronger and improve their appearance.
Replacing Teeth with "Bridges"
If you're missing one or more teeth,
you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. Bridges are one
options to help restore your smile. Our bridges help maintain the
shape of your face, as well as alleviating the stress in your bite
by replacing missing teeth.
A New Set of Teeth with "Dentures"
If you've lost some or all of your teeth, whether from
periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury, complete dentures or
partial dentures can replace your missing teeth and your smile.
Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your
health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making
a person look older. You'll be able to eat and speak things that
people often take for granted until their natural teeth are lost.
Natural-Feeling Replacement Teeth with "Implants"
Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures are not your only
options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental
implants offer a smile that looks and feels like their their own
natural teeth. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of
appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for
individual replacement teeth and eliminate the need for removable
dentures.
Comfortable Root Canal Therapy
With the latest techniques and equipment, Dr. Woodard makes root canals a relatively simple
procedure with little or no discomfort. In addition, he completes
95% of the procedures in one visit. He saves your tooth removing the
tooth's diseased or injured pulp, cleaning the canal and sealing it
off for protection. He then places a crown over the tooth to make it
stronger.

Bonding
Bonding uses tooth-colored materials to cover discoloration, repair
chips or fill in gaps. Along with teeth whitening it is one of our
most affordable smile-enhancing procedures.
Veneers
There's no reason to put up with gaps in your teeth or with teeth
that are stained, badly shaped or crooked. Today a veneer placed on
top of your teeth can correct nature's mistake or the results of an
injury and help you have a beautiful smile. Our veneers are thin,
custom-made porcelain shells crafted of tooth-colored materials to
cover the front side of your teeth. Veneer uses include closing gaps
and covering stained, poorly shaped or slightly crooked teeth.
Orthodontics
An orthodontic problem is called a malocclusion, meaning "bad bite."
Some examples of causes of malocclusion are crowded teeth, extra
teeth, missing teeth or jaws that are out of alignment. Most
malocclusions are usually inherited, although some can be acquired. Acquired
malocclusions can be caused by accidents, early or late loss of baby
teeth, or sucking of the thumb or fingers for a prolonged period of
time. Children and adults can both benefit from orthodontics. We
recommend every child receive an orthodontic evaluation by age
seven.
Orthodontic treatment may take a little longer for adults. Because an
adult's facial bones are no longer growing, certain corrections may
not be accomplished with braces alone. The treatment time
ranges from 12 to 24 months and varies with individual patients. We provide
free orthodontic consultations. We also offer metal or tooth-colored
brackets as well as the extremely thin and transparent Invisalign
aligners.
Full-Mouth Smile Makeover
With our advanced capabilities and the latest materials and
techniques, we can rebuild your entire smile to meet your
expectations.
